You know I'm one of the rarer people pushed here because essentially all the communities are taken on Reddit. Every name for every possible community is captured. The Lemmyverse offers way more opportunity for community building.
For all the reasons I’ve heard, that’s the first time I’ve heard this one. Makes sense though.
To be clear, it's not my only reason - but it's the largest one.

I admit that i sometimes use Reddit because it has a larger user base. I know I should use PieFed (or Fediverse in general) more.

I'm rather curious on how you're doing your outreach.
I think the most I have gotten is 50 people signing up at one time. Usually it's 1-4 at a time.
1-4 good people is much better than hundreds of bots/bad actors/ect...
Once the people come, the bots will follow.
If we can get all the artists and writers here that would be amazing!

What communities do you usually reach out to, and what would you say?
I have had the most success with r/buycanadian, r/linux and r/redditalternatives.
RedditAlternative is such a weird place though. Most of the time they trip over themselves to use anything else buy the fediverse lol
You can feel free to send 50 people our way any time you want.
How do you promote it without Reddit banning you? I just assumed they would ban anyone that was poaching users.
It's mostly moderators who remove the mentions of alternatives as I have been promoting the threadverse for months.
Tell them that our APIs are open & free
