If people already mistakenly think existing protections go further than they really do, I'm worried Reform could spin any attempts to strengthen them as Labour trying to screw over fishermen as part of their everyone except us hates fishermen agenda they've been pushing since before they were Reform and before the Brexit referendum was even announced. That was something that resonated with voters during the referendum campaign, despite being nonsense, so it could work again.
