That 'daddy' thing in sex will always freak me out. If a woman called me daddy during sex that would be the end of it

Comment + username makes me picture you as Mr Peanutbutter

[–] Soup@lemmy.world 6 points 1 week ago

Honestly as much as that’s still weird it’s a whole lot better than the incest thing.

[–] Beardsley@lemmy.world 28 points 1 week ago (2 children)

I'm good with it as long as it doesn't leave the bedroom or turn towards something really wrong. Otherwise, I respect the kink.

[–] Doll_Tow_Jet-ski@fedia.io 4 points 1 week ago

Ye I didn't want to kink shame anyone. I also respect the kink, but it would be a deal breaker for me. That and inflicting pain. I don't judge those who are into those things, but they're not for me.

"Daddy, could you pass the salt?"

My hand touches the salt shaker, so does her father's.

[–] lets_get_off_lemmy@reddthat.com 12 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I had a short-term ex say that and it really turned me off every time. If the relationship went on longer, I would've eventually said something. It really weirded me out, especially knowing that her dad died of cancer a year prior. It's like, what the hell is going on in your head? Get that checked out.

[–] fushuan@piefed.blahaj.zone 3 points 1 week ago

It's some sort of power play, parents are authority figures and it's a very popularized term, so maybe saying daddy instead of boss or Mr officer feels easier, as an introduction to sub/dom play.

The people that actually have daddy issues are different though.

I used to be in the same camp (and it's still not for me) but it started to make more sense to me when I realized it's kind of been a thing we've been doing for a while.

There's the well known Papi, in Spanish, but, even as far back as the 1930s in The Grapes of Wrath, you have Pa Joad refer to Ma Joad as "Ma". Even in The Year without a Santa Clause (for a more modern but still older reference), Santa refers to Mrs. Clause as "Ma".

The idea of using these titles for anyone other than my own parents was not something that's intuitive to me, at all, but clearly it's a thing humans have been doing for (at least) a century. Not all those examples are in sexual contexts but I imagine that a nickname you have for your partner isn't not going to end up continuing into the bedroom, at least not for everyone.

In that context, it started to make more sense to my brain.

[–] Doll_Tow_Jet-ski@fedia.io 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Hey thanks for the history lesson. That makes sense, and if Freud was right, it is in fact a primal impulse. But I don't think Feud was right. To the best of my knowledge, saying my parent's name or title as a sex thing is definitely not my cup of tea

[–] tomenzgg@midwest.social 2 points 1 week ago

Oh, I didn't mean it was a primal instinct; just that it seems to be a common cultural one.

I definitely feel you, though; it's very much not mine, either.

same. is it mostly an American thing? cause none of my friends would ever think to call their boyfriends "daddy"

No we say "papa"

[–] Dozzi92@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Yeah, and dunno if it's just because I have two kids now. I assume it would've struck me as odd before, but I guess I didn't think of it back in the before times.

[–] Doll_Tow_Jet-ski@fedia.io 7 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Ye now that I am a father of a girl, the thought itself disgusts me. I did find it weird before but now it blows my mind

[–] M137@lemmy.world 7 points 1 week ago

I have no kids and have always found it disturbing and off-putting. It's not a common thing in my country and language though, but I was with an American girl several years ago who said it and my member deflated like someone pulled the plug. No thanks.

[–] MeaanBeaan@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

It definitely weirds me out too and I at one point definitely had this opinion. But then I was with a woman once who I was very, very attracted to; Possibly more than anyone else I've been with. (Not that that's a bunch of people) She started calling me daddy repeatedly while we were getting into, and despite me being a little weirded out by it I, uh, didn't stop.

Horny is a hell of a thing.

[–] Doll_Tow_Jet-ski@fedia.io 1 points 1 week ago

Horny is a hell of a thing.

Hahaha true that. My brain doesn't like it but the other organ is more tolerant

[–] Kolanaki@pawb.social 64 points 1 week ago (5 children)

I don't sext because I can't jerk off and write a cohesive sentence at the same time.

[–] Forester@pawb.social 98 points 1 week ago (1 children)
[–] zxqwas@lemmy.world 19 points 1 week ago (2 children)

I could type with one hand before I switched to dvorak.

[–] Kolanaki@pawb.social 7 points 1 week ago (1 children)

It's not the typing that's the issue. It's the lack of blood going to the brain.

[–] Kalcifer@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 week ago

How to say you've got a big schlong without saying you've got a giant schlong /j

[–] ayyy@sh.itjust.works 5 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

This used to be me. Eventually I figured out one handed with the unlabeled keys but it took years. Congrats on the happy tendons.

[–] Beardsley@lemmy.world 9 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Speech to text, my brother.

[–] Revan343@lemmy.ca 10 points 1 week ago (1 children)

More of a bloodflow-to-the-brain issue

[–] MeThisGuy@feddit.nl 3 points 1 week ago

I just txt to speech directly from my little head. But it never surprises me because I already know what he's thinking.

[–] MossyFeathers@pawb.social 3 points 1 week ago

Git gud, scrub.

[–] Empricorn@feddit.nl 3 points 1 week ago

Yum last Newport at of.

[–] Dadifer@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

Your sentences don't stick together?

[–] razorcandy@discuss.tchncs.de 49 points 1 week ago

If this is happening, it’s usually because the other person wants to keep it going for too long, haha. I do not have time to edge you for 5 consecutive hours unless I’m multitasking.

[–] WorldsDumbestMan@lemmy.today 23 points 1 week ago (2 children)

I was the bottom person once. No clue why, or what possessed me to do that.

[–] slampisko@lemmy.world 15 points 1 week ago

Nothing wrong with being the bottom

[–] DragonTypeWyvern@midwest.social 9 points 1 week ago (2 children)

It's just playing along with a partner's fantasy. No effort and it makes them happy.

[–] WorldsDumbestMan@lemmy.today 3 points 1 week ago

Literally just did what they wanted me to, asking a lot of questions first 🤷‍♂️

At least I crossed that off my bucket list.

[–] stoicmaverick@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

You're a nice person.

[–] underscores@lemmy.zip 1 points 1 week ago

It's the effort that counts
