I'm a Toronto resident planning my first trip to NB/NS. I tried to lookup for car rental services in early August, but the rental companies are either sold out, or providing rocket-high price (200+ cad pre tax)

I'm curious that, if this is common in previous years? Any suggests if I'd have a road trip in Atlantic provinces?

Thank you!

Prices always have been around what you've searched during summer, its peak tourism season. However, some companies like Enterprise boost theirs a tad more. Renting a Kia Forte from Enterprise, for 4 days, is 500$ taxes excluded.

For suggestions, you could always stay on the western part of NB, Transcanadian Highway from Edmundston, to Fredericton then Moncton. But, the northernmost part going around Campbellton, the Baie Des Chaleurs, Bathurst and Miramichi takes longer but offers better scenery (if you plan on ending your trip in NS).

Thank you! Seems that I should plan my trip to NB in advance due to the high season. I'm planning to fly to Quebec city, to rent a car and return my car at Halifax.
