Premise, the Sully’s are moving again! And this time to a land of vulcanoes! All the same tropes, but now with fire!

And I will absolutely be watching it.

Looks good. Plot might be mediocre but with imax and dolby it becomes pretty enjoyable.

Because both movies are excellent.

Looks like a warcraft 3 poster.

The classic poster

The trailer has leaked online but I can't find it sadly. All I can find are news stories that the trailer has leaked or those fake trailers on YouTube. Who creates those, so deceiving.

I didn't watch the second one. Since IMAX spectacle (or 3D? Are these still 3D?) is off the table for now, am I missing anything else?

I saw the second one in IMAX, in 3D, with variable framerate, was a fun experience. Isn’t the whole point of these to technology-Max?

I think so, and that's fair, but something about how Cameron prioritizes and chooses to apply his considerable skill doesn't work for me. Even Marvel slop, which I'm admittedly fond of, still feels like the tech is there to tell the story, trite as it may be, rather than the story being there just because someone said you're supposed to have one. Hell, Avatar isn't even worse than those movies, but it feels like more of a missed opportunity.

Meh. I'm willing to admit this is mostly a "me and my expectations" thing, but if I don't care at least a little, I can't fully give in to the experience and let the technical spectacle wash over me.

I'm right there with ya. I'd like to see it just once on an IMAX, but I'm fine with follow-ups elsewise.

Hey! That's the name of the next chapter for the US!
