This doesn't appear to be supported by Markdown. Even if I implemented it it would not appear correctly in other apps and on web so I will veto this feature.

Is the lack of underline a limitation of Summit, or a limitation of CommonMark?

Can you type the underline Markdown manually?

That renders as italicized though, not underlined.
