Man, Sporting can really go and fuck themselves at this point.

If Gyorkeres struggles to adapt to the PL we (gooners) need to be patient with him. He's really put himself in the line to sign for us. He gave up some serious money to make this transfer happen, and he also turned down some very lucrative alternative transfer offers so he could join us. Not many players would hold out in this situation to come to a specific club. So he deserves a lot of patience and support from our entire fanbase.
I feel that with some of the new signings. New League, different country, setup; they may need some time to gel and may be a slow start to the season. Fingers crossed we come out firing. Eager to see how they go pre-season!
He'll probably do alright as well, honestly; he's played here before, albeit only the cups and Championship.
Yeah. Plus he for some good (non-penalty) goals in the CL against some decent sides.
He'll probably be under more scrutiny from the media than from us gooners. But I know there's a vocal subset of our wider fanbase who have no patience.
I'm glad it didn't go to penalties. I don't think I could have done it xD
Me tooooo. Especially after last game 😂
Anyone else watching the Euro semi? Let's see England win this hopefully.
it's coming home ;)
where the fuck are the subs man
Feels like the time wasting may have bit Italy in the arse. Trying to hold the 1-0 lead almost worked, but seemed a bit foolish. That's only from watching from about the 50th minute though
It's giving Euro 2020 but reversed
employer reposted a job listing I applied for after making me go through 2+ hours of interview and then ghosting me. my head is on MARS.
Sorry mate, that's really rough. Maybe you've dodged a bullet though if they are going to be like that.
That's fucken shit. You go through the effort to jump through their hoops and although they're not obligated to, the least they should do is a quick email to say you didn't get it.
You could call to follow up on why you were passed over, if that's something you thought worthwhile. Otherwise, I agree that you may have dodged a bullet.
Ohh my... after the last penalty shoot out I wasn't confident. Didn't matter in the end!
What a save as well but Kelly is just that good
Save was well-read. Keeper has done well, both have in all fairness.
Their keeper better than Hampton by far i'm ngl but Hampton has had her moments.
BLOW THE FUCKING WHISTLE
ohhh kelly if you scored that...
What a corner that would have been... faaar
Huge call!
Right one imo
I'm back in the saddle for youth football coaching. It's going to be an interesting autumn season since I'm sharing the responsibilities with another coach. Neither of us had quite enough players to form our own teams, so our teams have been merged together.
Good luck!
All the best! Let us know how you progress
PENALTYYYYYYY
Kelly!!!!!!! 😍😍😍😍
LETS GOOOOO
England has become like AWFC... Garbage time specialists 😂
Aygemang you star ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
she's gonna win the ballon d'or someday soon. been incredible every single time i've watched her.
Saw someone mention this elsewhere: we haven't actually signed anyone extra for the men's, all we've done is replace people who've left...
Sterling -> Madueke
Neto -> Kepa
Rapist -> Zubimendi
Jorginho -> Nørgaard
Tomiyasu -> Mosquera soon (or maybe Tierney, if you want someone who's actually played)
They're upgrades, sure, but the amount of depth still feels inadequate. Gyokeres will make that a lot better if we do sign him but honestly I'm starting to think that if we don't sign Eze it's gonna be a bit disappointing as a window. We're still running the same risk of injury.
That's a fair point I hadn't really considered holistically.
I would like us to also bring in Eze or another attacking option. I know we have a number of players and Nwaneri, but we feel light in the attacking mid and Eze could also be a good backup option for that position. I have wondered if other clubs interest in picking off other Palace assets has impacted a potential deal or maybe they are prioritising a striker before looking to make any other additions.
Seems to be some radio silence on the striker front for a few days now, which has me worried. It could be the same sort of silence we saw for the Mosquera deal, but it seems so high profile surely we'd have had something more substantial leaked. I'm also not that tapped into everything on social media to know one way or the other.
There is still time in the window of course, but I feel a little drained over the transfer window already. I'm just looking forward to the football at this point and I think that's also a reason why I'd like to just finally hear that a Gyokeres/striker transfer has been finalised. It's one of the main positions we've been lacking. Anything after that feels like a bonus.
I'm gonna be honest, I'm starting to wonder how good this window is. So far it's been good, but we need more depth. Upgrades are good and all but they're also sort of the minimum.
From a numbers perspective most of our squad depth was okay last season. In that we had multiple players for most positions (excluding striker).
The problem was that Arteta didn't seem to trust most of the alternatives. The deeper problem is that Arteta is the one who brought in most of those alternatives! So he basically didn't trust his own signing for one reason or another, and worked his starting XI into the ground. Injuries played a big part in his selection limitations. But those injuries were exacerbated by players being overplayed.
Arteta really needs to change his outlook when it comes to substitutions and alternative lineups. I think he's getting there, but it's been a bit of an slow process.
The injuries definitely hurt us and the lack of movement in the Jan window feels like they had decided to put off business until the summer. That's also probably also due to Edu leaving and a tough window to get deals done.
It does make me wonder if the experience of Berta has more sway on transfers
I think any Palace transfer will have to wait for their appeal. Europa makes a big difference.
Also a good point I forgot. I really hope they win that. They have a good basis for reinstatement. Bullshit the Redbull clubs don't have an influence or tge CFG have no say over Girona...
Who is named on the board means nothing. The owner of Forest put his shares in a blind trust but was still on the pitch to chastise Nuno.
