Anime characters who are partly, or entirely, technological. Or from works featuring sci-fi/cyberpunk/steampunk settings.

  1. Posts must feature "cyber moe". That is, anime characters who are cyborgs, robots, or very obviously from the future. Science fiction, cyberpunk, and even steampunk.
  2. No nudity. Lewd art is fine, but mark it NSFW.
  3. If posting a more suggestive piece, or one with simply a lot of skin, consider still marking it NSFW.
  4. Include a link to the artist in post body, if you can
  5. AI Generated content is not allowed.
  6. Positivity only. No shitting on the art, the artists, or the fans of the art/artist.
  7. Finally, all rules of the parent instance still apply, of course.

SauceNao can be used to effectively reverse search the creator of a piece, if you do not know it.

You may also leave the post body blank or mention @saucechan@ani.social, in which case the bot will attempt to find and provide the source in a comment.

It would be nice if there was an art instance that only allowed communities like this, and perhaps mirrored the most popular ones from other instances.

I know there's mastodon.art

Personally I'd rather aggregate them with some future community grouping/federation feature, and have the actual communities spread out on different instances to avoid any single point of failure.

I run several of these, you can check out my moderates list for the others.

Yeah that makes sense, perhaps virtual instances (that just treat external communties as local ones) or multicommunities would be a solution.

I hear that features similar to that are still in the exploration/planning phase.

And thank you, I will check out your communities.

For the time being, I guess I have to create my own art account.

Something like multimedia would serve. They could even be public, so others can sub to a collection of communities all at once.
