From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Linux is a family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991 by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution (or distro for short).

Distributions include the Linux kernel and supporting system software and libraries, many of which are provided by the GNU Project. Many Linux distributions use the word "Linux" in their name, but the Free Software Foundation uses the name GNU/Linux to emphasize the importance of GNU software, causing some controversy.

Seems I've been watching too much Resident Evil.

Doing the quick scroll through my feed and had to pause for what I thought was the umbrella logo.

It looks like a disguised Umbrella logo. Creepy, I like it!

I used to love Peppermint back when all I had was a shitty old laptop. Great, lightweight system by default without a bunch of extra crap you don't need.

This is neat. In college when I had really crappy hardware, I'd do Ubuntu core or debian core installs. Feels very similar to those but more intuitive.

How does this compare to something like Arch?

Awesome if you consider systemd to be a curse for whatever reason.

"The same thing" if otherwise.

What do you mean? Does Peppermint not use Systemd?
