Makes sense if your country is being run by child rapists.

[–] redsand@lemmy.dbzer0.com 28 points 2 weeks ago

Call your legislators office asking about this and Epstein while pretending to be conservative

[–] CosmicTurtle0@lemmy.dbzer0.com 34 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

I could have sworn that "human trafficking" was the cudgel that conservatives were using to justify their ban on porn.

Or is this a situation where they get rid of the department so that the administration alone can define what human trafficking is?

[–] dogslayeggs@lemmy.world 5 points 2 weeks ago

And it battles illegal immigration. You'd think they want to stop that, too???

Oh wait, that kind of trafficking hurts brown people so it can stay.

[–] foggy@lemmy.world 32 points 2 weeks ago

Epstein who?

[–] peoplebeproblems@midwest.social 28 points 2 weeks ago (3 children)

The thing here though to note is, they're not legalizing human trafficking, they're just massively weakening it so they can't investigate people making a lot of money on it.

[–] turtlesareneat@discuss.online 10 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

De facto decriminalization. Coming to a trafficker near you (like, really near you - probably in a hotel within 5 minutes of your house)

[–] Maeve@kbin.earth 1 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Tbh, it's been that way ever since I've lived here. Dboyz hook them in, they can't pay the bills. One told me he was a "bodyguard." I guess if you look at it a certain way, they guard bodies they "own." This is a minimum wage, "right to work” state.

Drug dealers

[–] StarryPhoenix97@lemmy.world 8 points 2 weeks ago

And yet, with the massive surveillance initiatives they have right now with companies like Meta, Pallentier, and the Miliatry they will be more equipped than ever to catch them. I guess only fall guys and outsiders will get caught.

[–] RampantParanoia2365@lemmy.world 4 points 2 weeks ago

Im not sure what other way this headline could be interpreted.

[–] notannpc@lemmy.world 23 points 2 weeks ago

The pedophile party making life easier for pedophiles once again.

[–] henfredemars 20 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

I mean that would be against the interest of Epstein and his buddies.

[–] Maeve@kbin.earth 3 points 2 weeks ago

Buddies = governments, mega corporations, ultrarich

[–] resipsaloquitur@lemmy.world 19 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

But Trump is the anointed one who will expose all the adrenochrone-swilling pedophile democrats.

Right?

[–] D_C@sh.itjust.works 3 points 2 weeks ago

Yes. Spot on. Exactly. Correct.

...
Or maybe, just maybeeeee, he's the one involved in a paedo trafficking ring and he is covering his tracks?
His actions pretty much explain which is the easiest to believe. So judge him on his actions...

[–] PalmTreeIsBestTree@lemmy.world 18 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Our government is being run by pedos.

[–] Maeve@kbin.earth 3 points 2 weeks ago

Always has been.

[–] Wilco@lemmy.zip 17 points 2 weeks ago

It's almost like they dont want to oppose it.

Republicans: The pro-life pro sex trafficking "conservative" party.

[–] lostoncalantha@lemmy.world 14 points 2 weeks ago

Are you still talking about Epstein? /s

[–] StarryPhoenix97@lemmy.world 11 points 2 weeks ago

"LOOKS LIKE MEATS BACK ON THE MENU BOYS" -- some rich tech-bro probably

[–] teawrecks@sopuli.xyz 10 points 2 weeks ago

I do find this a bit odd, though. Because there's no better way to do whatever you want than to piggyback it on a "save the children" narrative. Seems like these departments could have played a key role in their authoritarian overreach strategies.

[–] abcdqfr@lemmy.world 7 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Where is the convicted human traffickers, Tate brothers? Why are they there? Who is responsible? What hot topic are they caught in??
in a game of a thousand cuts, when do we slash back??

[–] Smoogs@lemmy.world 4 points 2 weeks ago

Yup you covered all the W’s.

[–] NoForwardslashS@sopuli.xyz 7 points 2 weeks ago

More evidence that someone is spinning up a new business with a certain client list that "doesn't exist".

[–] TheCleric@lemmy.org 5 points 2 weeks ago

Of course they do

[–] TheFogan@programming.dev 2 points 2 weeks ago

For a second I misread the punctuation, IE I thought it meant "to combat human trafficking, the state department guts it's office".

[–] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 1 points 1 week ago

Hmm, so who are they protecting by doing that?
