When someone overreacts that bad, you know you've hit paydirt.

So.. out of so many lies that have allegedly been said about Trump, this is the one lie that really triggers him? Sounds sus

He threatens to sue pretty often, though.

[–] hitmyspot@aussie.zone 5 points 3 weeks ago

Yet, curiously, never wins.

It's only libel if it's not true, Donny.

[–] ramble81@lemmy.zip 23 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

He won’t. Just like he hasn’t sued AOC for calling him a rapist. Suing means discovery, discovery means things are plainly out in the open.

He can revoke their broadcasting license

[–] ayyy@sh.itjust.works 5 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Fox is cable, not broadcast.

[–] smayonak@lemmy.world 2 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

I forgot yeah you're right. They cant take their license away without getting cable networks reclassified as public utilities, which they should be

[–] ayyy@sh.itjust.works 4 points 3 weeks ago

I want to redirect your righteous energy: cable providers should be classified as a “common carrier”. That’s the legalese you’re looking for.

He won't. Taco wouldn't risk upsetting his base like that.

[–] smayonak@lemmy.world 2 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

He has been threatening to do that. Broadcasters universally softened their coverage since the beginning of the year probably because of the threats

[–] njm1314@lemmy.world 2 points 3 weeks ago

He threatens a lot of stuff. I'm saying that he would never do it against Fox though. Way too many people who watch Fox watch Fox religiously. It's on all day every day. They won't understand the Nuance of him shutting it down. He'll just be the guy who turned off their constant companion. He won't do it.

Theil and Vance want the “old guard” gone via the release of Epstein info. I doubt this stops. Theil is a scourge of anything remotely human, but the man will probably garner favor from darker corners just by doing it. Now that Trump is fully rattled and yelling, the info releases will likely continue.

Trump's about to fins out he was expendable all along. However, at his age, it was never in doub that he wouldn't last too long.

I'm less worried by him having a third term. I don't think he'd have the stamina for pretending to be president, let alone actually stage a(nother) coup, even with help.

It was lightening on a bottlez os hopefully his downfall is the end of far right shenanigans for another generation. The question is how much will he destroy before that happens, how much damage will his successor so before getting the boot and how will we hold all levels culpable.

There will be a sense of returning to normal without punishmentz but the lack of punishment for Nixon is what directly led to Trump not facing consequences. There is not inoting the country by not upholding the rule of law.

Lmao these are completely the actions of an innocent man

[–] Randomgal@lemmy.ca 4 points 3 weeks ago

They should frame this as "that letter's kinda gay yo" That would drive him ballistic and fracture his base.

Oh yea? I'm gonna sue Murdoch too. Seriously, I'm not fucking kidding. This is his last warning. I swear. There will be no more warnings. Try me.
