Where we meme (joking in tone and detail, serious in sentiment) about General Sherman, the Civil War, and how the secesh traitors had it coming.

  1. No bigotry. The Union, or at least the part of the Union WE support, fought AGAINST that shite. We are anti-racist, anti-sexist, anti-homophobic, anti-transphobic, and in general anti-bigot here, even if not all the lads in Union blue uniforms were.

  2. No Confederate sympathizing. Anti-democratic racist slaver traitors don't deserve shit.

Explanation: The great abolitionist orator and writer Frederick Douglass was friends with John Brown, but declined to join his attempted uprising. Not least of the reasons was probably that, while John Brown was a pure and noble soul in attempting such a thing, its actual chances of success (being reliant on a few dozen men managing to spark a sudden slave revolt across the whole of the South) were always a bit slim. We love John Brown in this house, but sound strategy is not always... intuitive for impassioned men.
