“Something that we are seeing now as part of the strategy is making sure people know: if Donald Trump doesn’t have your back on this — which has been such a big part of Republican Party and MAGA lore for years — what else does he not have your back on? Does he not have your back on Medicaid? On Social Security? On the economy? On public safety issues? It’s a powerful opening that, again, he created himself.”

Ummm...you mean to tell me, they didn't see an opening to say this when Republicans just passed a massive piece of legislation that cuts billions in funding to all those programs, while adding trillions to the debt?

Are you fucking kidding me?

Bills are nothing to his base. They don't read them, and anything bad that happens can be blamed on the Dems, regardless of legitimacy. Epstein is something that can be known, understood, a boogeyman that plays into their worldview. A law is just a law, but a villain is a vibe, and MAGA has been running on nothing but vibes for almost a decade.

"A law is just a law"...until that law cuts off the benefits they rely on to survive. Then the villain should be obvious, even to them.

Then it's Biden's fault for racking up a huge debt and forcing them to do these cuts to services. It certainly has nothing to do with giving trillions to ~~the New Imperial Guard~~ ICE.

The villain is obvious to them. This is all part of Dear Leader's plan to cleanse our great nation. Any suffering is a necessary evil, or the devilwork of the Enemy ™️. He has a plan, They are evil. This is a tiny mix-up that will be fixed. The villain isn't who hurt them. It's whoever they can place the blame on first, and the ones who are really responsible are never at the top of the list because it doesn't fit their narrative.

thier most pressing concern for the voters was being anti-woke, so he pretty much delivered on what he promised. also thier base has always been ok with tax cuts for billionaires and thier corporations.

For them 🤣 :

The administration’s striking change in posture regarding Epstein has not only upset his base, it has wrought havoc throughout the Trump administration itself, reigniting and exacerbating tensions and petty feuds between the most senior members of federal law enforcement. Dan Bongino, the FBI deputy director and former Epstein obsessive, nearly quit his post over the memo, and skipped work last Friday in protest.
