Yeah. More like “Data is Interesting” (and bleak).

I’m honestly surprised the drug sections aren’t larger. Maybe we’ve actually made some progress there of not jailing people for marajuana possession and moving people to addiction treatment. Would be interesting to see those pie pieces broken down further (possession/addiction vs dealing).

Drugs still make up 365,000 people once you add up the 5 different areas they spread drugs out into.

Yes they made it legal in like half the country

moving people to addiction treatment

Oh, no those are the people reflected in the numbers, those drugs aren't legal yet.

I don't immediately see any interesting information here. The only thing I can glean from this is what i already knew - people shouldn't be incarcerated for drugs, people are waiting in jail too long before getting their verdict, and unproven "immigrant detentions" are a worryingly significant number of people.

Is there anything particularly noteworthy to see here?

I suppose it's slightly interesting to see data showing what i already knew

It was interesting to me that there are more people (7000) in territorial prisons than in Indian Country (2000), though I guess that's a reflection of how many have left the rez. I'd be curious about a state breakdown, per capita, of the local jails and state prisons.

Free "Drug" and most "Weapon" (if the only charge is "has weapon," if "use weapon beyond self defense" it should fall under another category).

They're trying to build a prison.
