Yeah it's quiet here for sure! But I'll give my take.

  • Campaign was good. Loved the story. Lodi is my fish out of water and the conclusion was satisfying and intriguing.
  • The new mechanics on the planet were somewhat jarring and platformy, I suppose. But hey, this is bungie experimenting and frankly something a little new, even if it didn't exactly hit, I applaud.
  • New loadouts and the grind to grind system: juries out. Tier 5 seems like rare as unicorns!
  • Portal: Yeah OK. This simplifies the play to get what I want. I know this looks life some mobile game shit, but I engage more with this tbh. It tells me how long it's going to be too play and I get to the action. World map still present.

7/10.

I've not paid for the star wars thingy. There's star wars games out there if I wanted that.

Real question: Ikora with or without Afro?

Everything I saw of this before release turned me off. Especially another soft reset of our gear. I spent the last 2-3 years build crafting and finding the stuff I like to use. Soon it’ll be obsolete. Again.

To quote Datto: “Innovation in Destiny cannot be ‘more Destiny’ “ and boy did everything I saw look like “more Destiny” except you can turn into a ball when we tell you to.

EDIT: You know what else was a turn off? All those employees getting laid off after TFS was a “massive success” while Pete Parsons is still in charge. Hard to justify giving Bungie more money.

You're not wrong. Gimme another live fps service with dungeons, raids and pvp. And I bet a vital organ, Datto keeps playing the game.

Yeah that’s the shame of it. No one else has done what Destiny does. Hell Destiny doesn’t do what it does best sometimes.

It's not going well, is it?

I haven’t played it and this community is pretty quiet. General vibe I’ve seen is that the story is really good but playing the campaign is not fun as Bungie doesn’t know how to make a Metroidvania type game.

I gave up on it. At least I could play the introductory mission, after they fixed the motion sickness inducing spark-mode issues.
But the current state of the game is, as the kids say, "ass".
split right in the middle by the existance of the new portal to chose activities, and the old director.
Split on the equipment because only the new stuff gives you a bonus if you use new equipment vs. old, even before set bonuses.

Also, and this is the biggest "wtf, what were they thinking": gaining power is completely disconnected now from the feel of the game. Because of all the relative-to-your level difficulty, leveling doesn't make you feel more powerful. nuts.
