There have been a lot of stories over time about "bad Jagex support" where someone lost their account due to email breach. Once your email is breached and the bad actor has access to your 2FA method, the account is done. If you are currently using Email 2FA, STOP!

Instead, use a device 2FA method like an authenticator app, and BACK UP THE APP so your account is never lost even if your device is lost. The app I use gives you a QR code you can even print and put in a secure place so that you are even able to recover if both your PC and phone die.

You should be using device 2FA for your email and other services, as well. No security is invulnerable, but it's much easier for a bad actor to somehow gain access to your password to a service than it is for them to gain access to your physical device. With a 2FA app securing both your email and your Jagex Account, you will not need to make a post here in the future talking about how "you did everything right" and lost your account.
