It’s very simple.

You can love Trump.

You can be livid that he was targeted.

You can be infuriated at prosecutors’ treatment of him.

But, if you want to win the general election and not keep this nation in the hands of radical leftists, you cannot vote for him.

Can't win? With the amount of people backing away from Biden...

Also people prefer the devil they know... He has a chance.

I just don't see it. The only election he ever won was a fluke. He won by some 80,000 votes over 6 states as I recall to win the electoral college vote. He lost the popular vote. On the other hand, Ron DeSantis has won the popular vote in 5 straight elections.

And DeSantis is a Republican governor of a Republican state. Not a great example.

The general narrative seems to be slowly pushing back against Biden. He was basically shown as perfect until the past few months or so. I think this means that Trump has a real chance.

Does DeSantis have a better chance? I doubt it. Brand recognition is a major player, and I don't see how DeSantis could get his brand out there better than Trump.

But Trump is generally known and his brand is negative with many voters. Many are sick of the continual personal drama with Trump. DeSantis has room for growth as more voters become familiar with him.

If you think for a second that it makes any difference you're delusional. Letting people dictate to you who to vote for is retarded. This careful selection for viability is cuck shit, it's what the Hard Rs tried to sell us with Cruz.

Please try to disagree without being insulting. If you can't, you're not welcome here.

Why? Trump won the GE twice now, I'm sure he can do it a third.

Where is your proof he won it the second time? He's not in office. The first time he lost the popular vote. He only won the electoral vote by the skin of his teeth. His personality is polarizing. I think you overestimate his popularity.

There is loads of proof. I'm not going to dig for it. If you don't know of any it's because you don't want to or don't accept it. But let me put it like this: Trump got the most votes for any president in the history of the united states.... except Biden who stayed in his basement and somehow got even more in the same election. It just doesn't compute.

Couple this with the fact that mail in voting isn't remotely secure (claiming over and over that it is doesn't make it so). It's insecure and incredibly vulnerable to intimidation tactics. Despite all this, Trump still got more votes than his original win.

Please don't question my motivations. If you have an argument make it. I don't mind argument but personal insults are unacceptable. Even if all you state is true, Trump is not in office. How do you prevent the same things that happened in the 2020 election from happening again?

~~To you. We're not in your safe space Sally. So sniff my scrotum.~~ Never mind, we are in your safe space. But in that case you need to stop framing everything as an insult. That's toxic behaviour.

Well that is a very good question. I was utterly shocked that 2 years later the same scam worked again. If the Republicans (who usually own the state legislature) can't figure this out in time for the presidential election then I guess they deserve to lose again. But if that's the case your boy Disantis won't do any better.

I don't think ron has a better chance tbh

[–] veritas@exploding-heads.com 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

At any rate, sticking with Trump at this point seems like doubling down on failure. It's time to try another race horse.

we're pretty much without options again which makes Trump likely the inevitable nominee

wonder what to do in 2028 though
