Last time I seriously played RuneScape was all the way back from 2003 to the end of 2004, before I jumped ship to WoW. Since then I’ve only touched it here and there. Played again when OSRS was launched but only got to around total level 500 but mostly out of nostalgia and helping out my cousin who went for world first 99 herblore (got 6th in the end) but never really stuck again.
Fast forward to now: my YouTube feed gets flooded with OSRS videos (thanks, WoW refugees), and somehow I got completely sucked back in. Now I’m playing every single minute of free time I have 😄
It’s been such a wild mix of both nostalgia and discovering new stuff. I still remember a bunch from the old days, but I feel also like much that’s changed or been added. It feels like I’m playing a new game with an old friend.
I’m rolling as a Hardcore Group Ironman and mostly just doing random skilling, quests, and figuring out how everything works again. And I'm having an absolute blast.
My wife, who’s been with me for 17 years and never saw me in my RuneScape era, is very confused. She watches me play and goes, “How do you get so excited when it looks this crappy?” And I just sit there fishing shrimp with the biggest smile on my face 😂
Anyway, just wanted to say how awesome it is to be back. The community is popping, the game is thriving, and I’m loving every second of it.
