This game hurts physically

[–] wjrii@kbin.social 2 points 2 years ago

C'mon Frogs. Can't leave that much open space.

[–] wjrii@kbin.social 2 points 2 years ago

Looks like an incomplete. GREAT play though.

[–] wjrii@kbin.social 2 points 2 years ago

Worst part of that sequence is Chandler Morris looks like he stayed in to take the hit specifically because he thought the WR would be in the area. Also, strong as Kell's leg is, he still has some work to do on accuracy Not the first time I've seen one look good until it didn't... I'm not saying much, but thee are times when you feel like he's not in sync like he can be, rather thna a truly bad kicker who just won't be trusted.

Wouldn't be a WVU game without a timeout in the first minute

[–] CMLVI@kbin.social 2 points 2 years ago

This just gonna be a game of running QBs

[–] CMLVI@kbin.social 2 points 2 years ago

Glad I didn't see that play

[–] wjrii@kbin.social 2 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago)

WVU should benefit a lot from the new blood in the B12, and from the ACC lineup no longer making any more sense than any other non-SEC conference. They're the one team up until now who had to deal with feeling like they were in the "wrong" conference. I have to wonder if it's affected recruiting and interest.

Shitty series. Oof

[–] CMLVI@kbin.social 2 points 2 years ago

What a stop

[–] wjrii@kbin.social 2 points 2 years ago

Oof. 'Neers had their chances with that bonk-throw and the off-the-fingertips, but of course it actually comes with Coach Tapefingers not knowing how to call plays in the red zone.

[–] wjrii@kbin.social 2 points 2 years ago

Woohoo! Morris is one of those guys who's pretty fast but his little legs make him look like he's going a million miles an hour. Also, FROGHORN.

[–] wjrii@kbin.social 2 points 2 years ago

Man, they got that stretcher out quick. Hope the kid's okay. Maybe "just" a stinger, but perhaps I'm engaging in wishful thinking.

[–] CMLVI@kbin.social 2 points 2 years ago

Didn't see Burks was hurt, he's our best DB. Gonna be rough without him

[–] wjrii@kbin.social 2 points 2 years ago

Well, that sucks. Good medical facilities in Fort Worth, though. Best wishes.

Well done, WVU. Almost feels right for this one to get back even, but so far this Frog team (post CU) has been slow to put things together, then sort of grinds down the opponent and slowly pulls away.

[–] CMLVI@kbin.social 2 points 2 years ago

That might be the weakest false start I've ever seen.

[–] wjrii@kbin.social 2 points 2 years ago

Okay, nice pass in stride. Well done Frogs. Now just need to make sure WVU is forced to let the first half end.

[–] CMLVI@kbin.social 2 points 2 years ago

Did anyone even move?

[–] wjrii@kbin.social 2 points 2 years ago

Phew. That was right at the kicker's range too.

INTERCEPT THE FUCKIN BALL HOLY SHIT

[–] wjrii@kbin.social 2 points 2 years ago

LOL, that comment made me realize I'd paused during halftime and hadn't skipped back to catch up. Chandler and TCU living dangerously.

[–] wjrii@kbin.social 2 points 2 years ago

WVU defense was fired up, but Brown is being too aggressive with these fourth down calls. It's calmed down some from last year, but I think coaches are too enamored of the datasets on fourth down success and consequences, ignoring that most of it comes from an era when their colleagues/predecessors were much more conservative about it. Context (game situation and the strengths of YOUR team) still matter.

[–] CMLVI@kbin.social 2 points 2 years ago

Big dick drive rn

[–] wjrii@kbin.social 1 points 2 years ago

Goddamnit. Good game, Mountaineers.

[–] CMLVI@kbin.social 1 points 2 years ago
[–] wjrii@kbin.social 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

These refs are calling a WEIRD game.

[–] CMLVI@kbin.social 1 points 2 years ago

That false start before half and that were questionable at best

[–] wjrii@kbin.social 1 points 2 years ago

Well crap. Good drive for WVU.

[–] CMLVI@kbin.social 1 points 2 years ago

LET'S GOOOOO

[–] wjrii@kbin.social 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Well crap. Good drive for WVU. (x2)

[–] CMLVI@kbin.social 1 points 2 years ago

Premature sadly

[–] wjrii@kbin.social 1 points 2 years ago (2 children)

TCU completely sputters in 3rd quarter...

Neal Brown: better not take the sure points.

[–] CMLVI@kbin.social 1 points 2 years ago

I liked that call, I don't like the previous one.

[–] CMLVI@kbin.social 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Lemme clarify. I didn't like the play call, I liked the call to go for it that time. Lol

[–] wjrii@kbin.social 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I liked the one around the 40. This one.... I get the appeal, but I dunno. Taking a lead for the first time would have been pretty huge.

[–] CMLVI@kbin.social 1 points 2 years ago

I don't think the FG wins there, but the previous time would have been huge. We'd still be up 3 and good position. At the one, I'd rather have the two score lead. This momentum could go either way rn. I love WVU TCU games tho

[–] CMLVI@kbin.social 1 points 2 years ago

Rimac injury was huge.

[–] wjrii@kbin.social 1 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago)

Okay, well, that could have been worse. Hope the QB is okay.

I also have to admit I find it slightly amusing that it appears WVU's kicker has a range of exactly 50 yards.

[–] CMLVI@kbin.social 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Get booing for players going down in quick succession, but like....dude is clearly hurt. Cart is coming, and trainers are sprinting around.

[–] wjrii@kbin.social 1 points 2 years ago

Yeah, I've always thought that if you're determined to boo, wait until a dude pops up and jogs off. This kid was clearly hurt.

[–] wjrii@kbin.social 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

"AG1" green drink looks like the time I tried to etch a copper circuit board with Hydrogen Peroxide and salt.

[–] CMLVI@kbin.social 1 points 2 years ago

This game sucks man

[–] wjrii@kbin.social 1 points 2 years ago

Well, that was dumb.

[–] CMLVI@kbin.social 1 points 2 years ago
[–] wjrii@kbin.social 1 points 2 years ago

LOL, if you WERE going to call Defensive holding against an OL, that was probably the play to do it. WVU TCU games are always so kooky.

[–] wjrii@kbin.social 1 points 2 years ago

I would like to thank the WVU defensive staff for apparently never doing catch drills.
