If you want to avoid results, don't check the community until after you've caught up on current events.

I didn't check the community. The post from this community popped up in my feed and I didn't know about it.
That is the problem with spoilers: it reaches people who aren't even aware of the community until they see it. It's the same as NSFW content: not everybody wants to see it and forcing others to see it is not nice, in fact it's even rude.
The post from this community popped up in your feed and you didn't know about the match or the community?
Neither. I've been loosely following the world cup thingy in the US and knew there was going to be a final, but not when. Found out there had been a final and the score at the same time. Not the end of the world, but still, a little annoying.
It's especially annoying since there is a solution to it: use the spoiler section and use a non-spoiling title e.g "Last night was the grand final of the World Cup in . Congrats to the winners!"
So as a weirdo who has been using ALL as a subscription feed, you want everyone to change their behaviour to suit your entitled arse? Frig off!
Sorry for using the default settings and not your preferred settings 🤷
Is it? I've always seen results posted on Reddit without any spoiler
Because reddit does it, do we have to?
Do you know any other football forum that has a spoiler policy?
From what I've seen, if people are interested in a match result, they'll either follow it live, keep an eye on the score from time to time, or not open any social media until they can catch up
This is based on Champions League and Euro finals
....not open any social media until they can catch up
This is what normal people do, like my self. If I don't want to know the full time score, then I just go on media black out until after I've watched the replay or the highlight reel.
Basically you avoid it because of spoilers. But when I suggest we don't do spoilers, that's a problem. Make that make sense.
I'm not concerned about other football forums at all. If all football forums were OK with racism or bigotry, would we be too?
Spoilers are spoilers regardless of the community. It may be chess, movies, books, whatever. For that reason spoiler sections exist on lemmy.
This is a spoiler title
This is a spoiler body. We should be using this.
There has been match result post in this community for a while. It is there for people to discuss a match result, not for people watching matches.
I kind of understand if the argument is goals or score should not be in the thumbnail or title. Like my post before should be only "Chelsea won CWC" with thumbnail chelsea squad celebrating.

Both people exist on the same medium meaning this magazine isn't the only one on the fediverse and your posts can (and in this instance did) pop up on people's feeds. As I said in another comment, I didn't know this community existed here, didn't know when the final would be, and didn't know who won. While scrolling through my feed all that information was revealed / spoiled.
It would be very kind and respectful not to spoil it for everybody else.
I honestly don't understand the argument of "popping in someone else feeds". You only see what you follow here. If you don't follow this community, it won't show up in your subscribed feeds. Of course, it may show up if you choose to see all community or local community (if you are on sopuli.xyz, which you are not).
So, what do you think it should be done? What part of it should be marked spoiler? How one can post a match result without spoiling it?

My feed is All Hot posts from All instances. In fact, that's the default on lemmy and mbin. So what you post here, will show up there. It's the same as reddit actually where by default you don't see your subscribed communities unless you set that to the default.
