Meme aside, what's nuts with psychology is that unlike any other modern discipline, outdated non-scientific and disproven ideas remain actively used under the excuse of "its just a different approach!"
So if you're struggling and find a therapist, maybe they're using the latest and most peer reviewed approach. Or maybe they are Freudian under which case they're literally just your "gossip doctor" and speaking to a trusted friend would likely be more effective than giving them your money.
