Hey everyone!๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿผ

This morning the team deployed a player update with a few changes regarding security and improved playback for some of our older players. There's always work to be done on both of these fronts, so we're excited to keep the updates coming. Check out below for a brief rundown of what's in the update and I'll be happy to answer any clarifying questions (the best I can) in the comments.

Player Firmware Version: 85.0-66270

In this update:

  • Introduction of additional security controls (Requires App version 80.23 or above)
    • Learn more about this in our Sonos Community Forums post.
    • This feature will be gradually rolled out over the coming weeks to help ensure stability and performance. I'll update this post when the release has been completed.
  • Support ending for WEP (wireless security encryption)
  • Improved responsiveness during playback for Play:1 & Play:3
