This is how I'm imagining this.

With the fandom growing and furries becoming more normalized in pop culture, I'm concerned without some sort of control or authority within the fandom will only spell disaster if we grow to a point where we hit a political wall.

We already have some states in the U.S. restricting how conventions are healed, we have states trying to pass laws in an attempt to restrict "anthro behavior", and at the same time I fear the fandom will become over sexualized if there isn't anything to control erratic behavior.

I have suggested coalitions so furs have the opportunity to change something in the fandom they do not like or be an alternative to convention spaces, but this is just a young idea I'd probably advocate for.

This is just my thoughts coming from a 20 yo in California.

Probably different abroad.

I don't think you have to worry about the fandom becoming overly sexualised. It always has been.

Given how we've been the punching bag of the internet since forever, it's inevitable that opportunist American politicians will do the same as there's really very little difference between them and internet trolls.

If you want to have a convention that's much more sfw go for it.
