Torrents: ᴘ2ᴘ ꜰɪʟᴇ ꜱʜᴀʀɪɴɢ

which is no big deal, but what I'm curious about is the fact that they files are now gone. I downloaded them last night I think, received the warning today, and when I went to delete the torrent files, they were in my downloads folder, but the actual files were not. I know they were there; I started to watch both just to check the quality and the viewer still shows the filepath but the files are gone. They're not in my trash or anywhere else on my comp. Is it possible for the provider to remotely delete the files?
