Why are these allowed to be shown in public? Adults would be freaked out and children would be curious.

You don’t want a mother seeing those around her and her child.

What happened to keeping fetishes in private rooms?

I know some will try to say that harnesses, collars, and leashes are not alwaya fethish thing since fursuiters will wear them to look cute.

They may get a pass, but that would be pretty weird for a non-fur to see those wearing all of the things I posted in the title cause they’re mostly described as Pup Play, and part of BDSM.

So again, why are these allowed in public?

Maybe I'm controversial but I'd rather not have kids around at furry conventions at all. While the fandom is not a kink thing like, say, the BDSM community, the sexual aspects permeate a pretty good chunk of it. I'd rather exclude kids than having to restrict self-presentation due to their presence, which I personally inevitably do even though I don't wear BDSM gear around at cons.

The pup gear absolutely is fetish clothing, and I prefer cons where there's a place for it, though even then I'd prefer it just being there at late evenings and events rather than in my face all day long.
