2. Original, Fresh, Meaningful Content.

3. Avoid repetitive topics.

4. This isn't an advice forum

Use a search engine, a tradesperson, Reddit, friends, a specialist Facebook group, apps, Wikipedia, an AI chat, a reverse image search etc. to answer simple questions or identify objects. Also see rule 1, “comment baiting”.

There are a number of content specific communities with subject matter experts who can help you.

Some other communities to consider before posting:

5. Keep it dull. If it puts us to sleep, it’s on the right track. Examples of likely not dull: jokes, gross stuff (including toes), politics, religion, royalty, illness or injury, killing things for fun, or promotional content. Feel free to post these elsewhere.

6. No hate speech, sexism, or bullying No sexism, hate speech, degrading or excessively foul language, or other harmful language. No othering or dehumanizing of anyone or negativity towards any gender identity.

7. Proofread before posting. Use good grammar and punctuation. Avoid useless phrases. I've been doing daily sauna for a month or two now. Feels great ...

80C for 20m every day...

Now the coating in my glasses is melting and everything is a blur of bright lights.

Need to get the rest of the coating off, or get new glasses.

I can’t wear glasses in sauna because they get too hot.

The room is at at 90-110 and the only reason I’m not is because I’m sweating, but my glasses and hair and whatever isn’t wet and evaporating gets burning hot to the touch.

Reminds me. I need to build one in my garden.

But I had some sunglasses that have had the coating peel off just outside of warranty and I think it’s because they’re dark and got hot in the sun. I feel like that should be a consideration when designing the coating.

Get new lenses, much cheaper than a whole new eyeglasses.

Is that really true? I see free frames advertised all the time, but we all know how "free" those kinds of deals actually are. But if I think about it, the frame is just a piece of plastic/metal and can be mass produced. The lenses themselves need to be specifically ground and fitted for that exact person, often with a difference for each eye. From what I understand this is still partly manual work, even though the machine does the grinding, an operator needs to set it all up and check the result. With often a couple of passes needed to get it just right. And those special coatings they apply aren't cheap either. So I wonder where the actual cost is.

This is no longer the case unless you have some pretty snazzy designer type frames. If you can even find anyone anymore who will do this for you. The real trick is just ordering your glasses online at like zenni optical or the like.

Goddamn, be careful. That sort of temperature can wreck more than your glasses.

Nah, glasses coatings can be super sensitive to heat. My cheap Zenni glasses only last like 3 months because I'll accidentally leave them in the car once.

As long as you acclimate yourself to a sauna, you'll be fine.

You hate to see it!

I had the same thing happen! I forgot to leave my glasses in the locker, couldn't be bothered to go back. Coating was ruined, just in one session.

This happens to me when I leave my glasses in the car
