Current Receiver is (Yamaha RX-V461)

HDMI replacement for a HTPC setup, 5.1 out on Spdif is just becoming a problem.

Any recommendations on a reliable somewhat affordable replacement option? Say sub $600

If I'm going HDMI, I want the pass through obviously.

The HTPC doubles for games but I do mostly use it for music or movies.

The Yamaha system has been good I hate to kick it out, but Windows and Linux don't want to play nice with 5.1 Spdif optical anymore and I don't want to keep fighting with it.

Feels like a waste but time moves on, right?

I'm in Canada Never had any other brand these are Yamaha Speakers and have held up well.
