I presently have 6 drives in a Jonsbo N5. The drives are about 2mm apart when in the system, and I'm having trouble keeping them cool. They are being cooled with 2x Arctic P12 PWM fans pegged at 100%.

In most NAS-type systems with adequate cooling (both inside and outside the case), your drives wouldn't surpass 40c. I ran an 8-bay Synology for years, and mid-30s temps were pretty normal. With the N5, the drives are getting close to 50c in this hot box. I noticed that the drives that don't sit between 2 other drives, like the ones on either end, run significantly cooler, like 4-5c cooler, than the sandwiched ones.

The case just does not provide adequate spacing, and thus cooling, to stack drives together. Anyone else with the N5 had issues with this? I suppose the only real fix would be a mod that gives you space to add 2 more 120mm fans to the front panel.

If you were on the fence about buying this case, you may want to think twice.
