At that point why wouldn't you just hire an expensive matchmaker. Who is this for?

[–] InevitableSwing@hexbear.net 31 points 2 years ago

Rich people who are vain.

[–] Magician@hexbear.net 26 points 2 years ago

The people rich enough to spend the money and dumb enough to think they got a good deal

[–] FourteenEyes@hexbear.net 40 points 2 years ago (2 children)

Why would anyone want this? Hot people are already matching with each other and ignoring us uggos.

Sugar baby matching is the only way both sides would like this I think

If an incel drops $500 on getting laid it's because he's giving it to a prostitute

[–] logflume@hexbear.net 39 points 2 years ago (1 children)

i can already pay $500 to go on a date with your dad why would i pay tinder

[–] FourteenEyes@hexbear.net 21 points 2 years ago

Dad's on Tinder now bro

[–] dualmindblade@hexbear.net 29 points 2 years ago (4 children)

Pretty cheap compared to keeper.ai, which is $100 to get started, 8k per physical date and 100k per marriage

Yo, I crawled around that site to see what was up with it... the most unhinged shit I've ever seen. They're using ai to "guide" the matchmakers decisions... which means they are having a shitty ai set you up, there's no human involved in this process, no shot! Here's a few highlights:

  • Pretty sure everyone I see on this site is white... -Mission: To solve the loneliness, marriage, and birthrate crises by creating happy, healthy families. ... yo what the fuck? They're a fucking people mill kennel club!

  • Values: 01 - Humanity is good

We look forward to a future of human flourishing - more artists, more astronauts, more inventors, more Olympians; more childhood dreams from more childhoods. But in much of the world, each generation is lonelier, has married less often, married later, and had fewer children. Most countries worldwide have fallen below the replacement rate, meaning their nations are dwindling. We think people need each other, as individuals and societies, and human flourishing starts with more families. ..... ..... 06 - We don’t deny Nature

Humans are the product of millions of years of evolution. Evolutionary biologists have studied the way men and women act when seeking long-term partners. They behave differently. They have different preferences, different communication styles, and different ways of seeking long-term partners. Dating apps completely ignore sex-linked differences and provide unisex experiences. As a result, the way they generate “matches” has helped fuel a culture of short-term flings, rather than marriages. Keeper takes human nature seriously, which makes us more effective at matching people for long-term success.

This is some weird ass conservative cishet breeder psychosis. No material analysis, it's the apps fault that people are lonely! Also, no options for any gender queer identities or relationships, no mention of us at all. And the dog whistle of not 'denying nature' along with it.

Then they've got a "calculator that tells you how much of the population is between your selected ages, income, height, isn't obese, and other shit - with a button that says 'find people that match these standards'.

And as if that wasn't enough for these ham sandwich ghouls, they list their investors: Bain Capital Ventures Champion Hill Ventures Sovereign Capital 16+ Angels

Every day I feel more and more like we're in a simulation.

If you're a woman making your profile, it's gonna ask you what color you like your toenails to be painted while you're barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen

Why do I get the feeling that the majority of clientele are in the PNW and have very strong options on the age of consent and Jews in the media.

Even more evidence toward my case that when techbros say "human" a lot when peddling something they sound even more dehumanizing. kombucha-disgust

The OP and this is really showing me how unhinged this shit is getting lmao im so glad i never used these weirdo shits

[–] Nacarbac@hexbear.net 9 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Given the absurd cash incentive I wonder if that's just an actual scam (well, slightly more of a scam) where they split the 8k to hire someone to be a date.

[–] Awoo@hexbear.net 4 points 2 years ago

You could definitely pay an actor $2000 to go on a date and pocket $6000

[–] bigboopballs@hexbear.net 26 points 2 years ago

imagine being a snob on Tinder

I don't understand these shitty sites/apps. I really, really hope they are just a fad that will completely die out in a couple more years and we can collectively get back to figuring out how to do this shit in a world where third spaces do not even exist anymore.

[–] UlyssesT@hexbear.net 23 points 2 years ago (1 children)

If someone is "sought after" and isn't already in a relationship, there may be a reason they're still available and it isn't their looks or their account blurbs. the-more-you-know

[–] keepcarrot@hexbear.net 13 points 2 years ago

It's because they haven't paid $499

[–] Hohsia@hexbear.net 22 points 2 years ago

Damn. Super jelly of everyone who found a partner before the algorithmic age

[–] aaaaaaadjsf@hexbear.net 17 points 2 years ago (2 children)

This seems like an escort service with extra steps, except 100% of the money goes to Tinder lol.

[–] MerryChristmas@hexbear.net 13 points 2 years ago

It's the weirdest mix of escort service and eugenics software.

[–] UlyssesT@hexbear.net 11 points 2 years ago

It has a paid harassment/stalking option on top of all of that, too. kombucha-disgust

You have to skim the article a bit to get the funniest part:

The new subscription can be stacked with a Plus, Gold or Platinum subscription for access to more features, the company notes.

It doesn't even get you all the features. They still want to nickel and dime you.
