Unpopular Opinion: I don't hate candy corn.

[–] schmidtster@lemmy.world 9 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I wouldn’t eat a bowl of them, but having a couple dozen once or twice a year is perfect.

[–] dingus@lemmy.ml 2 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Exactly. They're great if you don't make yourself sick from eating too many.

[–] usualsuspect191@lemmy.ca 2 points 2 years ago

With a year to recover, I'm happy to make myself sick of them while I can. Same goes for cinnamon hearts

It really is about time someone came out with a vegan version.. Used to have the kosher gelatine free kind in the past, but even those have eggs in :(
Candy corn and dolly mix, those are the sweets I really miss...

[–] Num10ck@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago

maybe that is your destiny. Or if you're too lazy vegnews.com has a whole long list in a vegan candy guide

[–] queermunist@lemmy.ml -1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

No! No!

You mean to tell me my cheap crayon candy is forbidden??? 😞

[–] DessertStorms@kbin.social 3 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Yeah, you'd assume they were basically just sugar and colouring, but sadly not..

[–] queermunist@lemmy.ml -4 points 2 years ago

Yeah surely they could be made from corn starch. Ugh

[–] BonesOfTheMoon@lemmy.world 5 points 2 years ago

I like making fangs out of it 10/10.

[–] Cort@lemmy.world 4 points 2 years ago

I can do it like once a year. But it looks like someone picked the chocolate ones out of this mix.

It's a popular opinion depending on who you ask.

There is something obscene about using high fructose corn syrup to make candy corn, but I love it anyway.

[–] BonesOfTheMoon@lemmy.world 9 points 2 years ago

Obscene is the perfect word for it.

[–] saltnotsugar@lemm.ee 9 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Look upon the cursed candy and despair.

[–] ivanafterall@kbin.social 5 points 2 years ago

The giant pumpkins are even worse. They look so nice and appealing, then you take a bite and it's pure eraser.
