Dissapointing that no points re community owned farms seem to have been listened to. But really, they are burying 9 miles of it, and replacing existing infrastructure, I do think the SG right to override here. NIMBYs gotta NIMBY!

Although underground cables maintains the visual appearance of the landscape, they actually have a much bigger impact on nature due to the need to dig a big wide trench along the whole route compared to transmission towers every few hundred metres. Also I think they're less electrically efficient because of the dielectric properties of wet soil vs air.

We're pretty good at it in general. And the land will heal. Skye should have been made a national park instead of Galloway (wasn't!)
