Your first mistake was paying for an ad supported plan

Anyway thanks to Hollywood accounting only a few billionaires will get your money and not the people that actually worked on the movie

[–] Rooty@lemmy.world 82 points 1 month ago

See kids, this is what happens when you stop pirating.

Where we're going, we don't need antivirus.

[–] Endymion_Mallorn@kbin.melroy.org 55 points 1 month ago (2 children)

Either buy the DVD or pirate the movie. Myself, I have all of the movies and the show on disc.

I'm not from Buenos Aires, but I say kill 'em all!

[–] ColeSloth@discuss.tchncs.de 15 points 1 month ago (1 children)

You poor bastard. The 2nd movie was bad, but the third one was bad in such a way that it couldn't even be a "so bad it's entertaining". It just plain hurt to watch.

Sure, but it had T'Pol and the original Johnny Rico, so, I couldn't hate it. I'd have been happier if Jeri had been dragged in, but Jolene did good.

ETA: Also, it's a #2 in a Verhoeven-sparked trilogy. Detroit, Klendathu... same difference. Just pass me the jetpack and stand back.

buy the dvd and seed it. ;)

I'm good with that solution!

[–] psx_crab@lemmy.zip 36 points 1 month ago (3 children)

Honestly that's why i pie rate. I get to keep that file and put it in external drive, and it will never be unavailable.

[–] Yermaw@lemm.ee 31 points 1 month ago (2 children)

Do it loudly and keep teaching others how to.

Steam taught us that piracy is a service issue and this shit right here is a service issue.

[–] MonkderVierte@lemmy.zip 19 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (1 children)

Let's hope Steam gets overrun by bean counter dickheads as late as possible.

[–] Little8Lost@lemmy.world 14 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Early Netflix proved it too and are currently showing us what happens when the service gets worse

[–] Yermaw@lemm.ee 4 points 1 month ago

Absolutely. I haven't personally pirated anything since getting netflix years ago, but its looking more and more tempting to get back into it.

[–] Reverendender@sh.itjust.works 7 points 1 month ago

That’s some tasty pie!

[–] cupcakezealot@lemmy.blahaj.zone 7 points 1 month ago (1 children)

i had to buy rainbow brite and the star stealer because i could not find it ANYWHERE else but you can bet if i can figure out how to do it i'm absolutely ripping it and seeding it for anyone else <3 content was meant to be shared

[–] tigeruppercut@lemmy.zip 1 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Jeez that brings back some memories. I think the only scene I can remember is a bunch of people the bad guy made sit on an ice planet (?) to weave a net to cover the entire surface.

[–] cupcakezealot@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 1 month ago (1 children)

for real; i watched it and care bears 2 religiously every day growing up <3

[–] tigeruppercut@lemmy.zip 2 points 1 month ago (1 children)
[–] cupcakezealot@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 1 month ago

omg you're great (imma still gonna keep the dvd just to have it since i found it for a really decent price but this is super)

i hate how it's so hard to find movies and cartoons from the 80s because most of the studios that made them got bought out and now the big streamers just sit on it and don't make them available because it's not profitable :/

[–] ceenote@lemmy.world 35 points 1 month ago (1 children)

But... I want to know more.

[–] BenLeMan@lemmy.world 7 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

Only if you do your part.

(is the logic here)

I must be "using" that page wrong. I never find shit of use, or things I do find are disorganized random directories that have 8 episodes of a Korean soap oPera in Russian.

Jacket and Qbittorrent. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

[–] Michal@programming.dev 19 points 1 month ago (1 children)

"change plans to watch the movie"? As in, i planned to watch it, but now I won't?

[–] JasonDJ@lemmy.zip 16 points 1 month ago

Lol well done.

My plan changed to "launch Kodi".

[–] cj2127@lemm.ee 6 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I haven't sailed the high seas since Limewire. I've got some learning to do

[–] javiwhite@feddit.uk 6 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Welcome back me hearty!

Proton VPN & QbitTorrent are the most common tools of the trade now. finding the files can be done via standard web browser; though many use TOR browser with duckduckgo as the search engine for an additional layer of anonymity.

Hope this helps. Feel free to DM if you need any advice on setup.

[–] P1nkman@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Or you/he could use USENET. A lot safer than the open seas, and the options are way higher, especially considering the retention period on some servers (I think it was 15 or 16 years on the one I'm on, Newshosting. Though, it does cost money

[–] javiwhite@feddit.uk 1 points 1 month ago

I do actually have a tweaknews subscription; But still find myself browsing public torrents too.

Old habits I guess.

[–] ILikeBoobies@lemmy.ca 1 points 1 month ago

It’s a thing

To freely distribute/ad funded distribute is a more expensive license and some media don’t offer it at all

[–] Kissaki@feddit.org 1 points 1 month ago

Peculiar that it's in such an old title.
