She's... interesting. Like Mary Margaret O'Hara was interesting, or Maria Bamford.
I saw her when she toured the Moon Pix album with the Dirty Three as her backing band. Chan was so nervous (or something) when she wasn't standing with her back to the audience, she had her fringe over her eyes so we couldn't see her face. Later, she appeared to come to terms with this got more confident on stage. I think I remember her talking about this on the Mark Maron podcast.
