If you find yourself getting angry (or god forbid, agreeing) with something Anon has said, you might be doing it wrong.

It's anime plot.

Akagi I think

Definitely written as if it is a reference to something, but if it's Akagi, it doesn't happen in the part adapted to the anime.

Akagi also isn't Chinese (and if he goes to China, it's not in the anime)

Possibly later but Akagi didn’t go down like that iirc. If anything it was more bad ass.

Edgy teens trying to mimic the insanity of early 4chan posts "before it was mainstream" and taking shit too far.

Alternatively, fake and gay: OOP fantasizes about getting topped by an elderly Chinese man with a cane and a service revolver (while also indulging in his delusions of chivalry).

It's funny and unexpected, why are you negative about it?

[–] alaphic@lemmy.world 9 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I'm not the person you asked, but if i had to venture a guess (and you're genuinely asking lol) id say it's probably a combination of a few factors, like the derivative nature of the premise, the excessive 'try hard" vibe, the unsteady, 'too far, too fast' escalation to an aburdly boring and low stakes 'endgame'... I dunno, mix and match from there as you like i guess? Lol

[–] glimse@lemmy.world 3 points 2 months ago

How can a low stakes ending be "too far"

[–] glimse@lemmy.world 5 points 2 months ago

There's no great payoff but like...your problem is they took it too far?? This post would have been flamed to hell on early 4chan for not having enough racism and sexual assault

In real life:

Staring out of my apartment window

see woman trying to open locked gate to the construction site across the street

do nothing because I don't give a shit

keep staring out of my apartment window

[–] lessthanluigi@lemmy.sdf.org 5 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

Not even at the woman, just enjoying the panoramic view of whatever is outside of the window, taking in all of the beauty of this lovely world.

I think this is a mission in Yakuza

[–] Gutek8134@lemmy.world 7 points 2 months ago

I think it's some TTRPG. due to "(it's our term for barbarians)" and the fact that it's pretty normal for my table's standard

[–] JackbyDev@programming.dev 15 points 2 months ago

I thought the joke was gonna be that this is a storyline from Yakuza or something.

Fake: Anon leaves his apartment to talk to a woman

Gay: Anon is knocked to the ground and surrounded by the Triad - clearly some fucked up bukkake fantasy.

[–] ssfckdt@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 2 months ago

bro why did you leave your house

This almost kind of sounds like just punishment for a nosy karen

[–] BossDj@lemm.ee 3 points 2 months ago

I like to read this as if he passed out right after thinking it was a ruse. In real life, people witnessed creepy 4chan approaching a woman on the street and reacted appropriately

[–] mojofrododojo@lemmy.world 3 points 2 months ago (1 children)

didn't 4chan get taken down? where does this stuff come from?

[–] Kolanaki@pawb.social 11 points 2 months ago (2 children)

4chan was back up like a week after it went down.

[–] mojofrododojo@lemmy.world 3 points 2 months ago

oh. eh. life finds a way I guess.
