I had been a Democrat since I turned 18.
Last month i registered as an independent.
There's no point being registered with the party if they aren't going to hold primaries.
Even if they do decide to do another primary next time i don't think I'll change back at this point.

Another gripe is the whole "Independents" are not Independent with the American population, just a whole lot of cowards who don't want to commit to making things better.

Within the two-party system, independents are often progressive and therefore syphon votes away from the Democratic Party, leading to elections won by republicans.
Often, independent candidates are even bankrolled by conservative PACS, for this specific reason.
If the US had a ranked-choice voting system, it wouldn’t be a problem.
99% of the time, running as an independent, is detrimental to progress, and instrumental to regression.
Independent progressives don’t run for office. They vote blue no matter who just like they’re berated to do by literally everyone.
Maybe she’s just sick of being stuck in a party that she doesn’t fit in and recognizes she doesn’t have the power to change it, even at her lofty level.
