I've heard that ingesting magical items has a less-than 0.1% chance of giving you innate magical powers. Nevertheless, kobold sorcerer populations are the fastest growing demographic in the land.
Really just shows what a bit of persistence and some top-of-the-line hot sauce will do for you.
