"Seventy-five cents of every dollar of capital spending for defence goes to the United States. That's not smart," - Carney Yes! Lets spread it out to those who might be willing and able to defend ournational security so we can continue to support each others' cultures!

That’s annoying. Let’s turn that number down to zero for the states.

Canada will not repeat the same mistakes Denmark made in WW2.

Not meaning to attack here but there's an entire page o wikipedia talking about Denmark in World War 2.

They basically tried to not take sides/stay neutral and ended up being invaded by Germany.

i agree! Canada must learn from the mistakes of others.

They didn’t fortify their borders in trying to avoid pissing off Germany and then they got invaded anyways in 6 hours. Fascists are always pissed off no matter what you do.

I think it would be very difficult if not impossible to secure our border if the USA decided on military invasion. Nevertheless, appeasement is not the way.

Canada needs homegrown and non-american military tech.

Citizen marksmanship and drone pilot programs would be smart too

The likely hood of this happening? Slim, given that he (Carney) still intends to confiscate licensed/registered firearms from PAL/RPAL holders.

Canada needs to keep a close eye on the US given the whole 51st state fiasco.

He's making it really easy to send our defense dollars elsewhere:

*Trump took to Truth Social to say that his administration was negotiating with Canada about joining his "Golden Dome" missile defence system, which "will cost $61 Billion Dollars if they remain a separate, but unequal, Nation, but will cost ZERO DOLLARS if they become our cherished 51st State. They are considering the offer!" *

They are considering the offer!

This is a great way to help us approach the 2% target without having to subsidize a country trying to annex us.

I vote for Burnt Sienna. A Burnt Sienna dome.
