As far as I’m concerned, Reddit is taking ownership of something they did not create, foster or contribute to.

What I don’t understand is why not just open back up but not do the work? Let the spammers, scammers and shitposters take over. It’d be MUCH more detrimental to Reddit, and it’s fully zero effort. If people complain, respond with “No tools to deal with this stuff anymore”.
