In Leningrad Oblast, a warehouse storing supplies for soldiers and humanitarian aid for residents of Kursk Oblast was set on fire

Late on May 24, in the town of Podporozhye, Leningrad Oblast, an unknown individual set fire to a volunteer headquarters. The facility stored supplies for the combat zone and children’s clothing intended for Kursk Oblast. According to staff, nearly all the property was destroyed by the fire — only soot-covered walls and, as noted by the head of the headquarters Tatyana Dogadina in a social media post, surviving icons remained.

She stated that someone “intentionally set fire specifically to the warehouse” to disrupt a shipment scheduled for May 29.

Official Russian Interior Ministry representative Irina Volk reported that a 40-year-old local resident was detained on suspicion of arson. A criminal case has been opened, and investigators are considering pretrial measures.
