The "supernatural miracle" being the very natural support of human orgs.

Yeah wtf has her God got to do with freeing her lol

[–] garbagebagel@lemmy.world 10 points 10 months ago

I'm not religious and I don't agree with the train of thought but I would think it's probably something akin to "god sent these people to help me"

[–] zr0@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 10 months ago

The lead in the pipes is obviously doing these “miracles”

[–] mriormro@lemm.ee -3 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Get fucked, man. You're stripping away your own humanity just to dunk on a woman and her fucking child who, by all accounts, were in a horrible situation under awful conditions.

You're a shitty atheist (or whatever the fuck you may or may not believe in). Worse, you're a shitty person.

Go touch grass dickhead

[–] Bonesince1997@lemmy.world 61 points 10 months ago (1 children)

These ICE agents are monsters. Those directing them are even worse.

"Just following orders"

Honestly every single one of them deserves to have their names and faces on public record

[–] MunkysUnkEnz0@lemmy.world 60 points 10 months ago (2 children)

Just why? It makes no logical sense to take an infant from their mother.

Pure cruelty and lack of thought.

Fire each and every person involved in that decision.

[–] Tiger666@lemmy.ca 49 points 10 months ago

The cruelty is the point. No one is getting fired.

[–] Jumpingspiderman@lemmy.world 8 points 10 months ago

If they unlawfully detained her, they should be prosecuted for false imprisonment and be imprisoned themselves upon conviction

Daily reminder to all my non-American homies. For the love of god do not travel to the US unless you absolutely have to.

The risk is not worth it and they dont deserve your money.

Find somewhere else to vacation. Limit it to absolutely necessary travel only.

I was just at a get together yesterday, and even standard white citizens are afraid to leave the country, fearing they'll have a hard time when they return. We're hearing lots of stories of people being grilled about their social media accounts, their opinions of the government and the president, etc. Eventually they'll start turning away American citizens for their political views, stranding them in another country without documentation.

Cancelles plans to go over next year, it can wait twenty years until you guys get a grip again.

[–] Test_Tickles@lemmy.world 1 points 10 months ago (1 children)

20? Wow. Someone is optimistic.

[–] Squizzy@lemmy.world 1 points 10 months ago

US ineptitude fortunately goes both ways.

Imagine being given the starting point a foot short of the finishing line and fumbling the win.

[–] Diplomjodler3@lemmy.world 49 points 10 months ago

The cruelty is the point, as ever.

[–] Ulvain@sh.itjust.works 47 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Why?

"If you don't look Aryan, we want you to feel like this is not a country you're welcome in. Get out." Is the message they're passing, with illegal cruelty as the medium.

[–] deltapi@lemmy.world 27 points 10 months ago

I was 'welcome home'd by a US CBP officer after flying into Washington from Africa...I'm not an American, and don't have American residency, but I'm white and speak with a neutral dialect.

I think you're right.

[–] ef9357@lemmy.world 44 points 10 months ago

Cruelty is the point. These fuckers have no souls.

[–] Flax_vert@feddit.uk 41 points 10 months ago

Having immigration control interfere with healthcare facilities is disgusting

[–] A_norny_mousse@feddit.org 34 points 10 months ago

This is misogyny at work. They have no idea how painful a milk blockage can be, and if there was a female officer present she was not heard.

Of course this is only one aspect of everything that is wrong here.

[–] Marsupial@quokk.au 29 points 10 months ago

I work with little babies and this makes me so mad knowing how traumatic this would be.

[–] fyzzlefry@retrolemmy.com 21 points 10 months ago (17 children)

Anyone who didn't vote for Harris contributes to this.

[–] theolodis@feddit.org 7 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Why couldn't the democrats come up with a progressive candidate instead of making this a rightwing vs rightwing race? Aren't political parties supposed to make people want to vote for them?

[–] nandeEbisu@lemmy.world 12 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Both are true here.

Yeah the Democrats absolutely shit the bed, and still are. But also it was clear that this president was not willing to uphold the constitution, was corrupt and incompetent. If you didn't care enough to focus on stopping Trump you weren't taking the situation seriously.

[–] theolodis@feddit.org 0 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago) (1 children)

I am not allowed to vote in the US, so you definitely can't blame it on me lol

[–] nandeEbisu@lemmy.world 1 points 10 months ago

Sorry, meant you in the abstract. Not you specifically.

The US is a no travel zone for me, on par with Russia.
