Ah yeah, I phrased that poorly. I know when they started... I was just reflecting on how the albums I still think of as "new Metallica" are like 25 years old at this point, and would definitely be considered back catalog.
Don't mind me. And if you'll excuse me, I believe there are some clouds on my lawn that need yelling at.
