The wacko must have confused an idiom r/BoneAppleTea-style which is bon appétit. But I can't for the life of me figure it what the idiom could be. I don't even have a bad guess. I have no guesses at all.

Another - far less colorful - possibility is that he has no idea what ingrate means but he uses it anyway. He might think it means something like "dangerous".

My mom also likes to use ingrate as a catch-all term. Might just like the way it rolls off the tongue.
