This is the place for discussing the potential collapse of modern civilization and the environment.

Collapse, in this context, refers to the significant loss of an established level or complexity towards a much simpler state. It can occur differently within many areas, orderly or chaotically, and be willing or unwilling. It does not necessarily imply human extinction or a singular, global event. Although, the longer the duration, the more it resembles a ‘decline’ instead of collapse.

It’s worthwhile to plant something this year to figure out the realities of growing food. Even if it’s one Home Depot bucket of peas or potatoes on your tiny apartment balcony.

It’s not too late if you make it happen this week.

Peas and potatoes are forgiving, they will grow almost anywhere. A tomato plant will have to be a purchase, you’re past seedling season.

Tomatoes and peas generally pay for themselves.
