At least one hundred. In 18th century Europe, still, in rare cases, "witches" were burned.

Were they burned alive and was it an official act? I think by the 18 century almost everywhere burning alive has gone out of style.

Yes, from scimming the Wikipedia articles, the victims of the last cases often were decapitated before they were burned.

I am much more comfortable to say I'd be one of the hundreds of nameless peasants jumping on the bandwagon of mass hysteria and passing blame. Makes sense, since I would have no access to education or even a second opinion on the matter back then. hindsight is a bitch.

we are so lucky to live in an enlightened age where delusions of self-rightousness are a thing of the past and no matter what I think I'll always be on the side of the good guys.
