Ask Lemmy
A Fediverse community for open-ended, thought provoking questions
Rules: (interactive)
1) Be nice and; have fun
Doxxing, trolling, sealioning, racism, and toxicity are not welcomed in AskLemmy. Remember what your mother said: if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all. In addition, the site-wide Lemmy.world terms of service also apply here. Please familiarize yourself with them
2) All posts must end with a '?'
This is sort of like Jeopardy. Please phrase all post titles in the form of a proper question ending with ?
3) No spam
Please do not flood the community with nonsense. Actual suspected spammers will be banned on site. No astroturfing.
4) NSFW is okay, within reason
Just remember to tag posts with either a content warning or a [NSFW] tag. Overtly sexual posts are not allowed, please direct them to either !asklemmyafterdark@lemmy.world or !asklemmynsfw@lemmynsfw.com.
NSFW comments should be restricted to posts tagged [NSFW].
5) This is not a support community.
It is not a place for 'how do I?', type questions.
If you have any questions regarding the site itself or would like to report a community, please direct them to Lemmy.world Support or email info@lemmy.world. For other questions check our partnered communities list, or use the search function.
6) No US Politics.
Please don't post about current US Politics. If you need to do this, try !politicaldiscussion@lemmy.world or !askusa@discuss.online
Reminder: The terms of service apply here too.

Exercise, drink wine, read more, and take tons of road trips.
Exercise to get healthy and work on my garden, to start. Then I'd handle any necessary projects for my home. Then I'd find causes to support by volunteering.
Haha I like to be silly at work sometimes after I’ve already paid the big monthly expenses. I say, “I’m here to do two things help kids and pay bills, and I’m all outta bills.” I would continue to work in my field on a part time basis. Then I would make time for a few doctor appointments and start going to therapy again. I’d walk my dog at different parks more often. Hopefully id make more time with my friends and family assuming they have the same deal. I would want to be more involved with my community too.
Metal, leather and wood working. Bee keeping and running a little shop
Go into teaching. I love to assist others in their learning voyage, I love science, research, classes. However, financial realities mean that I would be starving if I pursued that path. So I find fulfillment in adjacent activities in my current line of work. I would also have an electronics workshop, repairing computers and other electronics for fun.
Without joking, most likely I would watch more Lemmy.
Would study and do arts and use our findings and research to help improve the world in some kind of way, even if its a little.
I'm into bird watching, so I'd want to travel to see new ones and what have you.
I would want to craft more.
I would read more.
I would take language lessons
I would work on that book idea
I would take classes on anything that interested me.
I would want to have a small farm, I just think it's neat.
I would make radio. I do one show a week and I sometimes struggle to find time to even prepare for that, so if time weren't an issue I'd probably end up just doing a load more.
Make my pottery, dive deeper into woodworking, and learn permaculture farming.
I would build affordable housing.
I would walk my dog, lift weights, study foreign languages, help my community
Build things, well, until I get tired of it. The ADHD is strong and I hate fine finish work.
Go back to the low paying job that I really liked but couldn't afford.
Travel, meet with friends, play video games, watch some movies.
Make video games or digital interactive art pieces for VR
I'd spend more time playing guitar and chess and spend more time with my son.
I'd be one of those old school naturalists and just, like, go live in a swamp for three years with one pair of clothes, a cot, a journal, and a pencil.
Exactly what I am already doing. imagineering my top rated VR Theme Park and explore SE Asia and other parts of the world. Love both.
First year I'd definitely visit all Formula 1 Grand Prix.
I'd dive fully into circuitboard electronics
Sounds like it would have to be free or low cost hobby. So probably I'd go hiking, and camping while reading books and making coffee with my aeropress
Basically yurucamp. A nice cosy anime. You should watch it
If there's somehow a way in this utopia scenario to also maintain a moped like a Honda supercub or vespa, add that as well as I cruise around between hiking and camp sites
Yes I can do that right now but you know how it is what it is
Study more JiuJitsu and physiotherapy for poor people.
Also my research but with less bs
Join a 3rd band, I guess.
Read a lot of books. Swim. Go for coffee anytime I could with friends. Volunteer. Sit and stare out the window at the rain. Foster parenting.
A) mental health would absolutely improve so I'd have more energy for
B) producing more shows and putting on more events. Personally I don't want to retire because I want to create a career where if I did retire I'd just do what I was doing anyway. I'm kinda doing that now but I have more BS and stress to deal with.
