Let's find some new communities!

This is a bot-fed community for finding new communities to subscribe to.

The bot's list is based on reading lemmyverse.net, sorting the resulting communities by (MAU divided by subscriber count), and posting the highest-ranking one that hasn't yet been printed.

It also reads Mbin and Piefed communities.

Enjoy!

It'd be nice if summaries were posted with the articles.

Hm, it’ll already pull in any of the content from the RSS feed (which means a lot of the sources give summaries or full text in the body which is nice). And Lemmy already grabs the page and puts up the description which means for phys.org you get a little one paragraph summary. IDK whether I want to get into doing custom fetch logic or anything above and beyond that.

Gotcha. I know it can be a pain, just wanted to mention it.

Yeah, it's a good idea.
