On April 4, 2024, he was killed, likely during a Russian offensive near Bakhmut, however, his burial in the U.S. did not take place until December 2024, Important Stories reports.

What a fuckin weird story, it makes it sound like he was a peace loving hippie who wanted to make the world a better place, then smoked one bong hit too hard and ended up doing a complete 180, joining the fascist fuckheads and died making the world worse off

Unless he visited Russia (stupidly, not the first to do so nor the last), they figured out who his parents were and forced him on the front line somehow? blackmail?

I know someone in this boat. Was trying K as a therapeutic, doctor-monitored, etc. for severe anxiety and depression. As far as I know he never abused it... but he also ended up deeper in the Twitter hole afterwards. The neuroplasticity is a double edged sword, it seems.

We are no longer on speaking terms after he tripled-down on being a bigot.

It sound like he was trying to get Russian citizenship through military service. Then they sent him to Bakhmut to die with 100,000 other recruits. Number made up, but probably not that far off.
