Shit rolled up in a tortilla, that’s a burrito

[–] SpaceNoodle@lemmy.world 6 points 3 months ago

Yum, shit burrito

I’ve always wondered what makes a wrap different than a burrito since it, too, is wrapped in a tortilla.

[–] Lv_InSaNe_vL@lemmy.world 1 points 3 months ago

In my mind a wrap is a specific type of burrito. A wrap is just a sandwich in a tortilla, so it'd be things like cold cuts and things you put on a sandwich

I wouldn't want to have burritos at your place if you're just rolling poop into tortillas. 🤢

Shouldn't a corn dog be considered a burrito?

Or is it a ravioli?

[–] prettybunnys@sh.itjust.works 4 points 3 months ago (1 children)

I believe a corn dog is actually a hybrid nugget / lollipop

[–] KingJalopy@lemm.ee 4 points 3 months ago (1 children)

I've never seen anyone suck on a corn dog.

I really haven't lived I guess.

[–] Lv_InSaNe_vL@lemmy.world 1 points 3 months ago

Never seen a corn dog wrapped in a tortilla lmao

Hell yeah! That’s a great looking burrito. Love cabbage salad. What’s the question?

[–] beerclue@lemmy.world 6 points 3 months ago (5 children)

Thanks! The question is - can this be considered a burrito? I used random stuff about to go bad from my fridge and pantry :)

[–] cattywampas@lemm.ee 13 points 3 months ago

A burrito is stuff wrapped in a tortilla. This is most definitely a burrito.

[–] ccunning@lemmy.world 6 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Your leftovers look way better than anything in my fridge 😞

[–] beerclue@lemmy.world 2 points 3 months ago

Haha, they were looking pretty dank before prepping them :))

[–] BertramDitore@lemm.ee 5 points 3 months ago

Culturally? I’m not positive. Personally? Damn straight that’s a burrito.

When I make burritos at home, they’re almost exclusively made with leftovers.

[–] mattw3496@fedia.io 4 points 3 months ago

To me, a burrito is a subset of wrap (which is a subset of sandwich).

A burrito is a wrap using a tortilla base and usually has texmex (or similar) fillings.

I would call your thing a wrap (non specific), but ultimately it doesn't matter what it's called so long as it's yummy and people understand what you are talking about

If there was any doubt: you got yer beans, beef, cheese, green leafies, onions, corn, peppers (okay it's paprika but still) coriander, cumin, and lime, all pretty traditional elements. The unfamiliar flavors? That's fusion, baby! A delicious and healthy fusion burrito. Also practical, using leftovers, that's grandma-approved.

If anyone that works at chipotle is watching this is the correct way to make a burrito.

Do NOT put each ingredient one after the other… that’s just a kebab without the stick.

[–] Rai@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 3 months ago

This looks and sounds AMAZING. Beautiful work. Yum.

[–] jjpamsterdam@feddit.org 4 points 3 months ago (1 children)

These look really great! Perhaps you could format the ingredients as bullet points, making it much easier to see at a glance what you used.

[–] beerclue@lemmy.world 1 points 3 months ago

I didn't mean my post to be a recipe, just wanted to give a bit of detail, but it kept expanding as I was writing :) Fair enough, I'll try to make it a bulleted list.
