Tech oligarchs (Sergey Brin, Priscilla Chan and Mark Zuckerberg, Yuri and Julia Milner, and Anne Wojcicki) create a science prize, fund the inauguration of an anti-science president who appoints a fellow tech bro to gut govt funding of science, and then cut the part where someone points out the irony... "for time reasons"... from a YouTube video.

Jeff Bezos, Mark Zuckerberg and Sergey Brin all in attendance.

And yet, Joe Rogan (no relation) can spew propaganda on every podcast.

Joe Rogan would scream up and down about censorship and stuff and freedom of speech back in the day about this type of thing when it was against his worldview.

I don't think he's been complaining much about X or this or anything since. Just seems to suck up to Elon.

Strange that free speech doesn't matter when you're forcing people to say what you believe.

100%. I used to enjoy his show until he became an obvious hypocrite and started spouting more random nonsense.

I've said it before, but it is truly astounding how the media and corporate world just folded before Trump.

I know big money was never really against Trump, but I remember in the last go round, you couldn't get away from celebrities shit talking him on award shows and Netflix specials. The self-fellating pride month displays at stores seemed to almost get bigger, so Target and Walgreens' could pretend they were fighting for a cause. There were no end to the lawsuits against Trump's shit.

Now, the media seems afraid to challenge Trump. Forget DEI programs, it seems like Black History month is going to disappear from some of these companies and Trump is rather blatantly extorting whiteshoe law firms.

It seems like the middle American voter is the only one who didn't comprehend exactly what Trump meant for the American democracy.

During Trump 1.0, I kidded around about a fascist takeover because it didn't seem like a realistic prospect. But Trump 2.0 is a whole different ball game, in no small part due to the amount of people willing to kiss the ring.
