It's a dev focused episode, this time about Andre Pires (Lead Hair Artist at CIG). No point in my usual TL;DR, just watch it if you're interested in the guy (there are some sneak peeks of new hairstyles in the footage too).

Hold up, they said that facial hair was not in the plan when he first arrived?!

Good thing they brought him on and he figured it out.

Yeah, I believe it was initially intended as a long term goal that may or may not happen. The sudden advancement in both "normal" and facial hair after he joined the company was a nice surprise for many at the time.

Ah screw it, here are a few things from the video:

  • Already mentioned sneak peeks of new hair.
  • Incoming this year: more hairstyles for players as well as hairy animals and armour.
  • Current focus is on less military styles.
  • They are limited to shoulder length styles at the moment as they want to avoid clipping. They'd like to implement longer styles in the future.
  • Sneak peek on Starlancer TAC silhouette in the background.
  • Free Fly starts today.

I can't watch this yet, still at work. But is there any mention of that Area18 mission giver lady with the neat eyes? Will she now have the concept hair and not that headdress? I dont have a problem with the head piece, don't get me wrong, but a while back they said she couldn't yet have the concept character hair (longer and dreads if I recall correctly?) as the tech wasn't ready for it.

The hell was her name again? Hah.

That would be Twitch (or Tecia Pacheco). No word on that unfortunately. Her concept hair is a bit longer than what they're willing to go with at the moment (Andre mentioned they don't want to go beyond shoulders to avoid clipping) so my guess is it'll probably take a while. Maybe until the long awaited ArcCorp rework
